If a tenant was granted a pauper's affidavit, do they still have to pay rent to the court during the appeal process?

The Texas property code requires tenants to pay their monthly rent into the registry of the court during the pendency of appeal. The greater question is really, what happens if they stop, or they don't pay at all into the court's bank account? If they stop, or they don't pay the rent, the property code allows you to file a motion to get immediate writ of possession and get your property back. But it's important to note, that doesn't actually end the appeal. The attorney representing you in the county court will still need to go attend the trial, and the eviction service will still need to appear at your behalf to ensure that the county court judgment is final. ♪ [music] ♪
