Is there a deadline for when I must return tenant's security deposit?

Under Texas law, a landlord or property manager must return the unused amount of a security deposit to the tenant no later than thirty days after the have received a written notice of the tenant’s intent to leave. That being said, the tenant must notify the landlord via their notice as to which address the deposit may be forwarded to.

When it comes to returning the security deposit, the tenant does not need a written request to get the security deposit back.
